We need to, in a web service, create an XML representation of the AzMan store for transit.

Unfortunatley AzMan doesn't seem to give you access to the XML, only writing it to a file). Am I missing something?

Also two quick code notes, I think in your usage examples in the code, files are referred to without the "msxml://" pre-pended.

Also there’s a conditional of "if (false == true)" in TransportHelper.cs line 575, and I was curious if that's an oversight or on purpose.

Anyway, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
RobRobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05896679513588632128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-920065377104456952.post-54898601836945333212009-09-29T06:41:44.783-04:002009-09-29T06:41:44.783-04:00hi

Th...Correct and that is what I suggested (sort of). The actual case was more of a basic regex issue where the user was to login to a site using domain\username and upon logging in they needed to parse that and search by sAMAccountName to change password. So basically...

public void SetPass(string username, string password)
{
username = ExtractPureUserName(username)
//get root OU path
//use DirectorySearcher with the rootpath, username) and then call NativeObject.SetPassword and .SetInfo
}

So yes, DirectorySearcher was the way to go and this was more of a regex to get to that point based off this users specific question.

...I guess I should really change the title of this post :)Joe Langleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11553619789895911588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-920065377104456952.post-55157619633420914702009-07-10T13:57:21.133-04:002009-07-10T13:57:21.133-04:00If you are using the System.DirectoryServices.Dire...If you are using the System.DirectoryServices.DirectorySearcher to look up an account in AD, to get just the login name sans any domain information, you would just need the samaccountname property from the returned DirectoryEntry object.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-920065377104456952.post-78851225867313419062009-07-03T07:50:26.825-04:002009-07-03T07:50:26.825-04:00Happy it helped!Happy it helped!Joe Langleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11553619789895911588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-920065377104456952.post-39653096916103104292009-07-03T07:31:11.187-04:002009-07-03T07:31:11.187-04:00Thanks for this! :)Thanks for this! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-920065377104456952.post-83166400209697898702009-06-18T21:25:28.957-04:002009-06-18T21:25:28.957-04:00Actually, your approach is much nicer!
